In the event of a major fire, the first few minutes are critical. Anchor Fire Retardant Marine Plywood provides you with more time to save life and property.

Modern buildings are often easily susceptible to fires, with ruptured wirings, carelessly fitted gas cylinders, and improper handling of inflammable materials increasing the risk of a fire outbreak. Fortunately, there are ways to ensure adequate protection to life and property during a fire:

Introducing Anchor 72 Fire Retardant Marine Plywood, which combines the supreme durability of Anchor 72 Marine Plywood with the excellent fire resistance of Anchor Fire Retardant Plywood.

Ordinary Plywood burns easily

In the form of thin sheet materials, however, wood is highly combustible on account of its high surface area to volume ratio. For example, a thin veneer of wood burns easily. Plywood is likewise a relatively thin sheet material and hence tends to burn and spread fire rather easily depending upon the intensity of the fire.

However, plywood lends itself to impregnation with waterborne chemicals which impart to it high resistance to ignition, spread of flame and flame penetration.

Anchor Fire Retardant Marine Plywood

Anchor fire Retardant Marine Plywood combines the supreme durability of Anchor Marine Plywood against weather and wood destroying organisms, with excellent fire resistance. It has the following superior features :

  • Use of selected hardwood veneers for high strength and stiffness.
  • BWP type Phenol bonding as per IS 710:1976, which makes the plywood withstand a rigorous hour boiling test.
  • Impregnation with fixed type preservative chemicals by vacuum pressure process as per IS 710:1976, which imparts durability against rot, termites and wood boring beetles which cause the notorious "powder phenomenon" in building interior systems.
  • Impregnation with fire retardant chemicals by vacuum pressure process, to meet the requirements related to flammability, flame penetration and rate of burning as per IS 5509: 1980, the IS Specification for Fire Retardant Plywood.
  • Strict Quality Control, Testing and Inspection procedures supported by experienced technologists.
  • The most interesting characteristic of Anchor Fire Retardant Marine Plywood is that it is unbelievably economical.
